The public will be able to shop for business and career attire at no cost during Mid-State Technical College Dress 4 Success event on the Stevens Point Campus from 3 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 25. Available items include men’s and women’s business suits, dress pants or khakis, shirts, blouses, polo shirts, ties, skirts, dresses, dress shoes (like-new), new colored dress socks and accessories such as jewelry, purses, belts, coats or jackets.

Agriculture students at Mid-State Technical College will soon gain new confidence in their ability to safely deliver dairy calves, thanks to the College’s acquisition of a custom-built Holstein cow birthing simulator. The lifelike simulator arrived at Mid-State’s Marshfield campus in March and will be used for training students to protect both mother and calf in 12 different common cattle birth scenarios.

Mid-State Technical College hosted its annual Central Wisconsin Job Fair on April 3. Open to all seeking a job or other opportunity with local employers, the free event attracted 275 job seekers and 75 employers, significant increases over the 200 job seekers and 65 employers at last year’s event.

In celebration of Global Day of the Engineer, Mid-State Technical College hosted its Engineering Day on April 5. Participating students in grades 9–12 from Amherst High School, Adams-Friendship High School, Lincoln High School, Almond-Bancroft High School and Nekoosa High School gathered on the College’s Wisconsin Rapids campus to explore high-demand science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) careers. The students also met with current Mid-State students and heard from local employers on the job skills needed to work in industry.
