A course to help law enforcement officers know their surroundings and react to them is now available for registration through Mid-State’s continuing education. Law Enforcement Recertification – Situational Awareness meets Thursdays, March 28 and April 11, on the Wisconsin Rapids Campus, with TelePresence delivery available at all other Mid-State campuses.

Mid-State Technical College has awarded a $500 scholarship to one lucky participant in its Feb. 20 Program Showcase. Brett Shuda, a sophomore at Stevens Point Area High School (SPASH), was presented with the scholarship on March 6, 2019, following the career exploration event. Shuda was selected by random drawing to receive the scholarship from among over 400 high school sophomores who attended the event on the College’s Wisconsin Rapids Campus.

Mid-State Technical College is hosting its annual College Camp for central Wisconsin students who will be entering grades 6 through 8 this fall. Students interested in actively exploring careers through education are encouraged to attend the day-long, safari-themed event scheduled for June 12, 2019, on Mid-State’s Wisconsin Rapids Campus (500 32nd St. North).

The Wood County Master Gardener Association is ushering in spring with a Spring Master Gardeners Seminar hosted by Mid-State Technical College. Designed to help people prepare for the upcoming growing season, the seminar includes networking and presentations from local gardening experts Laish Heersma and Denise Larson. The event takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Mid-State’s Wisconsin Rapids Campus on Saturday, April 6.
