Mid-State Technical College will host the 2024 Wisconsin Women in Higher Education Leadership (WWHEL) Conference on Wednesday, Nov. 13, and Thursday, Nov. 14, at the Wisconsin Rapids Campus. 

The Mid-State Technical College Foundation, Inc., held its ninth annual Trapshoot Fundraiser on Sept. 20 at the Wisconsin Trapshooting Association in Nekoosa.

Mid-State Technical College will receive a $1.8 million grant from the U.S. Commerce Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) for building renovations needed to boost workforce development in the region.

Mid-State Technical College hosted 20 of its K-12 partners from local high schools on Sept. 12 to give updates on the College and the changing workforce landscape.

Registration is open for Mid-State Technical College’s mid-term start classes beginning in October, which means it’s not too late to get started this fall. 

Mid-State Technical College will host the annual Wisconsin Education Fair (WEF) on Tuesday, Sept. 24, from 9 to 11 a.m. on the Wisconsin Rapids Campus.

Rich Neumann, culinary arts instructor at Mid-State Technical College, is a recipient of the National Association of College and University Foodservices (NACUFS) David R. Prentkowski Distinguished Lifetime Member Award.

Dr. Brigitta Altmann-Austin was named dean of Wisconsin Rapids Campus and Schools of Applied Technology and General Education at Mid-State Technical College in July. 

Dr. Shelly Mondeik, president of Mid-State Technical College, has been named the Central Region 2024 Chief Executive Officer (CEO) by the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT). The Central Region is comprised of Minnesota, Michigan, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Missouri, Kentucky and Ontario.

Registration is now open for the Wisconsin Health Information Management Association (WHIMA) 2024 Fall Conference that will be held September 26 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Mid-State Technical College’s Stevens Point Downtown Campus.

Mid-State Technical College has announced Rick Anderson as its new dean of the Adams Campus and School of Public Safety. Anderson officially stepped into his new roles in July after providing interim leadership for the Adams Campus since the retirement of Laurie Inda in January 2024.
