A new statewide survey shows growing confidence in Wisconsin’s technical colleges, with two-thirds of Wisconsin residents holding a favorable opinion of the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) and its colleges, including Mid-State Technical College.

Mid-State Technical College is offering a new 63-credit AI Data Specialist associate of applied science degree this spring. The two-year program is shared with Waukesha County Technical College (WCTC), recognized for its AI expertise. 

Mid-State Technical College’s fall 2025 graduates were recognized during the College’s biannual commencement ceremony on the Wisconsin Rapids Campus, Saturday, Dec. 13. Out of a class of 541 graduates across the College's campuses, over 150 crossed the stage to receive their diploma.

Mid-State Technical College recognized the achievements of its 45 Nursing program completers in a pinning ceremony December 16.

Mid-State’s Tree Tech 2025 was a showcase of hands-on arboriculture training for high school students, Arboriculture students, alums and industry partners.

Mid-State Technical College has named Angel Laidlaw, president and CEO of Centergy, Inc., as its 2025 Distinguished Alumni Award recipient. “Angel’s story is a powerful example of the transformative impact of technical education,” said Nikki Dhein, Foundation & Alumni director.

Mid-State Technical College will host its mid-year graduation with an indoor ceremony at the Wisconsin Rapids Campus at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13.
