Mid-State, NCRTAC to host EMS field training
Mid-State Technical College and the North Central Regional Trauma Advisory Council (NCRTAC) invite emergency services personnel to the NCRTAC Fall EMS Field Training Day. The training will be held on Saturday, September 7, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Mid-State’s Wisconsin Rapids Campus.
There will be four hands-on technical skills practice scenarios at this training event led by current EMS and fire department professionals. Scenario topics include SALT triage and multi-patient incident, airway decontamination and management, impalement trauma and management of the entrapment victim.
“We are delighted to partner with Mid-State to offer this training to area first responders, EMTs and paramedics,” said Michael Farley, regional trauma advisory council (RTAC) coordinator. “Conducting hands-on training in realistic scenarios helps provide these caregivers not only with valuable training, but also contributes to the recruitment and retention efforts aimed at the many volunteers serving our communities."
The cost for the NCRTAC Fall EMS Field Training Day is $55 per person and includes lunch. Registration is required. Learn more and register by August 30 at mstc.edu/EMS-training.
