Mid-State Technical College is proud to welcome County Materials Corporation as its newest partner supporting Mid-State’s Wayne H. Bushman Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, and Apprenticeship (AMETA™) Center. The company’s $200,000 gift secures lifetime naming rights in one of the Center’s classrooms.

A check presentation and ribbon-cutting celebration at the AMETA Center took place on Wednesday, Aug. 13, marking the occasion.

County Materials, headquartered in Marathon City, Wis., manufactures concrete construction products that support essential infrastructure, including bridges, stormwater management systems, parking lots and structures, warehouses and retail complexes. The company employs nearly 2,000 people and offers career opportunities in areas such as concrete manufacturing, finance, human resources, information technology, marketing, operations, risk management, sales and transportation.

“At County Materials Family of Companies, we know firsthand how transformative hands-on technical education can be, and we’re proud to play a role in expanding access by supporting the AMETA Center,” said Rebecca Sonnentag, executive vice president of marketing and communications at County Materials Corporation. “The AMETA Center represents innovation, collaboration and a shared vision for success in manufacturing. We’re excited to be part of a movement that will positively impact lives, businesses and the region for years to come.”

“For our organization and our family, this collaboration is both personal and purposeful. We see it as an investment in people—a way to foster growth, learning and success that will multiply throughout our organization and the wider community," Sonnentag added.

“We are deeply grateful to County Materials Corporation for their generous support of the AMETA Center,” said Dr. Shelly Mondeik, president of Mid-State Technical College. “This project has fostered so many vibrant partnerships between Mid-State and local employers, all working together to expand opportunities for our students and strengthen our regional workforce. This gift is another example of the kind of collaboration we are so proud to celebrate.”

A limited number of sponsorship opportunities for lifetime naming rights and exposure remain available in the AMETA Center. To learn more, contact Mid-State Technical College Foundation & Alumni Director Nikki Dhein at nikki.dhein@mstc.edu.
