Cyber deception can turn the tables on attackers by making them question what they believe to be true and untrue about your network. Presenter Ryan Victory will help us explore the basics of cyber deception and how you can use deception techniques to influence the beliefs and actions of threat actors targeting your organization. We’ll cover the principles of cyber deception, the deception-planning process, an example of using cyber deception to combat credential stuffing, and ways you can get started with deception today.

Ryan VictoryRyan Victory is a cybersecurity expert who uses big data analytics and machine learning to stop cyber criminals. He has built big data analytics platforms from the ground up to hunt for cybersecurity threats at some of the biggest banks in the United States, worked in security research for a leader in the Network Detection and Response (NDR) industry, and currently protects users from malware threats at the largest social media company in the world. Ryan is also a US Army Veteran with 2 combat deployments: Afghanistan from 2014-2015 as a HIMARS Rocket System Platoon Leader and Jordan/Syria from 2018-2019 as a HIMARS Battery Commander, leading 107 Soldiers spread across three different bases in Jordan and Syria. Ryan lives in Stevens Point with his wife, two crazy kids, and two even crazier Mini Australian Shepherds.
