Outdoor ceremony planned for Mid-State’s spring commencement

May 10, 2022

Mid-State Technical College will host its spring graduation on Saturday, May 14, with an outdoor ceremony designed to celebrate all graduating students, their families, invited guests and the College. The event begins at 1:30 p.m. on the Wisconsin Rapids Campus.

The ceremony will take place in the campus parking lot with large screen monitors providing a view of the proceedings in real time. Graduates will be seated in front of the stage before having the opportunity to walk across the state to receive their diploma. Guests will view from their cars in the parking spaces behind the seated graduates.

The celebration will include a student address from Business Management graduate Brittany Nelson, Plover, and a faculty send-off by Criminal Justice Instructor Courtney Kostuchowski. The keynote address will be delivered by alumna Renae Sigall ’04, named to Wisconsin’s 48 Most Influential Black Leaders 2021 list. The ceremony will be broadcast over outdoor speakers as well as radio for sound. The event will also be live-streamed for anyone wishing to join remotely.

In-person attendance is reserved for ticket holders, but all others can view a livestream at mstc.edu/gradlive and follow the event on Twitter at #MidStateClass22. For more information visit mstc.edu/graduation.
