Mid-State Technical College receives Blue Door Award

November 17, 2020

Mid-State Technical College was honored as a recipient of the 2020 Blue Door Award from The Boys & Girls Club of the Wisconsin Rapids Area. The award was presented to College officials on Wednesday, Oct. 28, at the newly constructed Boys and Girls Club facility in Wisconsin Rapids.

The community partnership award recognizes Mid-State’s work in the last year to offer year-round programming, allowing members to engage in career readiness and enrichment activities. Over 200 members from all three Club locations have benefited from the College’s investment in ensuring youth in the community are exposed to the opportunities and possibilities after graduation.

“It is such a privilege to accept the 2020 Community Partner Blue Door Award on behalf of our College,” said Mid-State President Dr. Shelly Mondeik. “The Boys & Girls Club of the Wisconsin Rapids Area accomplishes such important work in our community, and partnering in programming and youth activities makes each of our organizations stronger right along with the students and families in the communities we serve.”

“The Club Board of Directors are grateful and lucky to have Mid-State… share their time, programs and resources to help us make an impact on Club members, now and in the future.” said Fawn Gottschalk, Board vice president.

The Blue Door Award was created several years ago to recognize donors and volunteers who have gone above and beyond in serving the Boys & Girls Club.
