Trapshoot Fundraiser doubles money raised for student grant programs

September 13, 2018

September 13, 2018 – Mid-State Technical College supporters gathered at the Wisconsin Trapshooting Association in Nekoosa on Sept. 7 for the Foundation’s third annual Trapshoot Fundraiser. The fun, team-based competition raised over $6,000 for emergency grant programs that benefit students in financial need, twice the amount raised at last year’s event.

The first-place team was comprised of Brian Krause, Kevin Krause, Fred Krause, Mark Skibba and past Mid-State president John Clark. Overall high female score went to Mary Claire Nicholson. Overall high male score was a tie between John Clark and David Nicholson. A shoot-off deemed Clark the winner.

“We’re now in our third year for this awesome event, and it’s thanks to enthusiastic participation from the community that it continues to grow” said Jill Steckbauer, director of Foundation & Alumni. In its second year, participation doubled from the previous year, stated Steckbauer. She attributes this year’s milestone of doubling the total amount raised to increased participation from sponsors.
