Registration is now open for a new Mid-State Technical College conference on nonprofit leadership. Called “Spark! Igniting Passion in Nonprofits,” the conference is aimed at helping central Wisconsin’s nonprofit enthusiasts achieve personal and professional growth through passionate conversation. The event is set to take place on June 20, 2024, at the College’s Marshfield Campus . All skill levels are welcome.

Spark! will feature a conference opener by Ted Melby from Mid-State’s Workforce & Economic Development division, a keynote address from Jeremy Fojut from MARS Solution Groups, a panel discussion and two breakout sessions. During the breakout sessions, attendees can choose from Board Development, Marketing and Fundraising themes or mix and match topics.

The focus and programming for nonprofit enthusiasts is unique to the Central Wisconsin area, and only a few conferences within the state support nonprofit leadership development for all skill levels and organizational impact.

Many local nonprofit organizations rely greatly on dedicated volunteers to carry out their mission, according to Ashley Winch, executive director at Marshfield Area United Way. “Our organization is excited to see a learning opportunity like the SPARK conference being offered to our area nonprofit organizations,” she said. “From board development to diversifying revenue streams to creating an impactful online presence, there are focused sessions that can benefit all nonprofits.”

“We heard our community expressing a need for nonprofit development, and we’re thrilled to help meet that need in central Wisconsin with the SPARK nonprofit conference,” said Mid-State's dean of the Marshfield Campus, Dr. Alex Lendved. “This event is designed to empower and uplift nonprofit organizations at every stage. With engaging breakout sessions, an inspiring keynote speaker and panel discussions, we aim to ignite the transformative potential of nonprofits, ultimately strengthening our communities.”

Spark! is coordinated by Mid-State’s Workforce & Economic Development division. Funding has been provided by nonprofit supporters in the central Wisconsin community, including premiere sponsor Forward Bank and lunch sponsor KerberRose.

The conference fee is $95. Register and explore the schedule of sessions at mstc.edu/spark-conference.
