Mid-State Technical College’s AMETA™ Center to host career exploration events for students and adults
Mid-State Technical College will host two upcoming events at its Wayne H. Bushman Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, and Apprenticeship (AMETA™) Center, each designed to help community members explore pathways to rewarding careers in manufacturing, engineering and technology.
The Return to Learn Job Fair, scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025, from 4–7 p.m., is open to the public and geared toward adult learners and career changers. Attendees will:
- Explore Careers by connecting directly with local employers and learning how their industries align with Mid-State programs.
- Discover how Mid-State supports adults returning to school, balancing education with work and family.
- Find out how to build skills and pursue apprenticeships or training opportunities to earn while you learn.
The following day, Thursday, Oct. 2, 2025, from 9 a.m.–2 p.m., the AMETA Center will welcome 8th- and 9th-grade students and educators for the K–12 Industry in Action Day, a hands-on, immersive event showcasing career opportunities in advanced manufacturing and related fields. Students will:
- Engage in hands-on learning with Mid-State faculty in AMETA Center labs.
- Participate in a “lunch and learn” with industry leaders sharing their career journeys.
- See industry in action during tours of two local manufacturers.
- Discover pathways to apprenticeships, training and career readiness.
“These events highlight the AMETA Center’s role as both an educational hub and a bridge between students, job seekers and employers,” said Ryan Kawski, dean of the School of Applied Technology at Mid-State Technical College. “By engaging youth, adults and industry partners, we are building strong workforce pathways to meet the needs of our region.”
Both events are free to attend and hosted at Mid-State’s AMETA Center in Stevens Point. Learn more at mstc.edu/events.
