Mid-State hosts Admit Day, awards $5,000 Big Decision Scholarship
Mid-State Technical College welcomed approximately 60 high school seniors and their families to its annual Admit Day, recognizing students who have chosen to continue their education at Mid-State.
The event, held in alignment with National College Decision Day, gave students the opportunity to celebrate their admission, connect with faculty and advisors and take the next steps toward starting their college journey.
This year more than 1,600 high school seniors were automatically admitted to Mid-State through its Direct Admission program, which streamlines the college-going process and encourages students to pursue higher education close to home.
A highlight of the event was the presentation of the $5,000 “Big Decision Scholarship,” awarded to one student who has committed to attending Mid-State. This year’s recipient is Adelia Scapardine, from Marshfield Alternative High School, who plans to pursue the Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic programs.
“I truly believe everything happens for a reason,” said Scapardine. “I'm extremely grateful that I was granted the Big Decision Scholarship. This is a huge opportunity toward fulfilling my dream of becoming something I've been looking forward to. I cannot wait to start my journey as an EMT/paramedic!”
During Admit Day, students received certificates of admission, met with instructors and staff and explored campus resources designed to support their success.
Mid-State Technical College is proud to celebrate these students as they take the next step in their educational journey and look forward to welcoming them to campus this fall.
High school students graduating in 2026 can still confirm their admission to Mid-State. Learn more at mstc.edu/direct-admission.
