‘Cuts for Kids’ Event Brings Free Haircuts and More to the Community
Mid-State Technical College Cosmetology students will again share their hair-cutting skills with the community with free haircuts and a lot of fun at the College’s Cuts for Kids event. The event takes places in Mid-State’s Wisconsin Rapids gymnasium and on-campus salon on Tuesday, Dec. 4, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Attendees will enjoy free haircuts for kids and much more, including community resources for families in need, free food, Christmas cookie decorating, hands-on activities related to Mid-State programs, a game area and a chance to meet Santa.
Cuts for Kids is part of Mid-State’s ongoing effort to give its Cosmetology students relevant hands-on experience that effectively prepares them to be industry leaders in the workforce. “Cuts for Kids events are great opportunities for our Cosmetology program students and instructors to provide a needed service to members of our surrounding community while utilizing their expertise,” said Missy Skurzewski-Servant, dean of Business & Technology.
