Mid-State Technical College awards $5,000 ‘Big Decision Scholarship’
Mid-State Technical College has awarded a $5,000 scholarship to Marshfield High School graduating senior Claire Pearce. The “Big Decision Scholarship” was created as a limited-time opportunity for 2023 high school seniors undecided on their path after graduation to help make the decision easier.
The scholarship was awarded to one student and will be divided across four semesters: $1,250 each for fall 2023, spring 2024, fall 2024 and spring 2025. To be eligible, the student must be a 2023 high school graduate and admitted to Mid-State Technical College.
“This scholarship will allow me to start off my education at Mid-State for this next year,” said Claire Pearce, who plans to pursue the Digital Marketing program at Mid-State before transferring to UW-Stout for graphic design. “I was so shocked and did not expect to win.”
“We are so excited to present this scholarship to Claire and can’t wait for her to begin her post-secondary academic career at Mid-State,” said Micki Dirks-Luebbe, interim director of the Mid-State Technical College Foundation, Inc. and director of development for the College. “We are grateful for the generosity of our donors. Without their efforts, opportunities like this wouldn’t be possible for our students.”
