Farm Tour 2026
Mid-State's 2026 Farm Tour, presented by Fox City Builders, is an in-person showcase of innovative technology and agriculture practices designed to help producers enhance their operations.
Event Highlights
- Field Presentation at Marshfield Agricultural Research Station: The Marshfield Agricultural Research Station is a nationally recognized center for applied agricultural research, providing practical, research-based insights to support Wisconsin producers. Work conducted at this site focuses on crop production, soil health, water quality, and sustainable farming practices that can be applied on working farms.
- Featured Presenters
- Adam Abel, State Grazing Land Specialist with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, will share insights on grazing systems and forage management, with a focus on grazing cropland, cover crops, and regenerative agriculture practices that enhance pasture productivity while supporting long-term land and resource stewardship.
- Jamie Patton, State Agronomist with the USDA National Resources Conservation Service, will highlight simple, in-field assessments to monitor changes in soil health in grazing systems.

- Farm Tour at Elusive Hill Dairy: Elusive Hill Dairy offers a look at modern dairy technology in action. The operation recently completed construction of a BouMatic 72-cow rotary milking parlor designed to improve efficiency, cow flow, and daily labor. The expanded layout includes a new freestall barn and a 515-cow holding area, with breezeways connecting key areas to support smooth movement of cows and employees. Dedicated tanker bays, office and employee space, and well-designed pump rooms support reliable daily operations while allowing flexibility for future growth.
- Lunch and Networking: Held at the American Legion in Marshfield.
- Keynote Address: Jamie Patton, State Agronomist with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, will highlight current trends and practical applications in soil health and regenerative agriculture. In her role as State Agronomist, she provides technical guidance to farmers, agency partners, and industry professionals across Wisconsin. Her background including education and research roles with Northwest Missouri State University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
The 2026 Agribusiness Farm Tour is designated as a C2A3 Outreach and Dissemination project and is supported in part by C2A3 Outreach and Dissemination Funding.
