Construction Trades Academy
The Construction Trades Academy is an opportunity for high school juniors and seniors to earn the Construction Trades technical diploma prior to high school graduation—at no cost—through a combination of Dual Credit and Start College Now courses.
How the Construction Trades Academy Works
Across two academic years, students complete 12 credits through Dual Credit and Start College Now options within their high school to finish the Construction Trades technical diploma.
Upon completion, graduates can:
- Begin work as a construction laborer.
- Pursue registered apprenticeships including Carpenter, Construction Electrician (ABC or IBEW-NECA), Plumber or Steamfitter/Steamfitter Service.
- Continue with Mid-State programs including HVAC Installer, HVAC-R Technician, Civil Engineering Technology-Highway Technician, Industrial Mechanical Technician, Precision Machining Technician and Welding.
Cost Savings
Students participating in this free program save $2,240.50, the estimated entire program cost to complete the Construction Trades technical diploma.
