College is a few years away. And that means plenty of time to explore! Your freshman and sophomore years are the perfect time to:

  • Explore college programs
  • Tour a campus
  • Meet with an outreach coordinator to learn more about Mid-State

Why Now?

There are big advantages to exploring college now. With the right planning and prep, you'll open more opportunities for yourself in your junior and senior years:

  • Save money by enrolling in dual credit
  • Participate in youth apprenticeship
  • Maybe even earn a college degree before graduating high school

This won’t happen overnight, and that’s why we’re here to guide you along the way. Here are the steps you can take now to get a head start and grow confident with your choices about college and your career.

9th Graders
  • Start looking at your schedule for next year and pick out Dual Credit classes to take as a 10th grader. Dual Credit classes are a great way to try out Mid-State programs and get a taste of college.
10th Graders
  • Are you set on a program? Apply to Mid-State Fast-Track before March 1 of your sophomore year to get started in a degree program while in high school.
  • Prepare for your junior year by picking out Dual Credit classes to take as an 11th grader.
  • Working? Does your employer offer youth apprenticeship? Check in with your school counselor or college outreach coordinator to find out how to get started.

Information Technology

Feeling like a phish out of water? Keep up with the latest technology, use creative thinking to solve problems, and stop data security threats in the Information Technology career cluster.

Law, Public Safety, and Security

You have the right to find your perfect fit! Be involved in the community, ensure safety, and understand the rights of others in the Law, Public Safety, and Security career cluster. 

Manufacturing

The future of manufacturing is bright! Work with your hands, solve problems, and learn how things work in the Manufacturing career cluster. 

Marketing, Sales, and Service

Are you sold on us? Come up with creative ideas, persuade others, and work closely with others on a team in the Marketing, Sales, and Service career cluster.

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics
