What You'll Learn

Mid-State’s Human Resources Assistant program prepares students to successfully manage activities involving new staff, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding. Graduates can provide support for all existing staff regarding employment needs as well as integrate human resources to align with an organization’s strategic direction.

In this program students will engage in various activities and learning opportunities focused on employee support, vital aspects of the hiring process, and labor relations and law. Students will also develop and practice effective communication skills to meet the needs of the employer and employees in any organization.

Dr. Bartel received his doctorate from the University of Wisconsin–Stout. His professional experience includes twenty plus years working within the financial, Investment, and insurance industries in a variety of managerial roles and for a number of well-known and local companies, including Sentry Insurance, Thrivent Financial, and American Express.
