One idea. One minute. One slide. One Hundred Dollars.Throw out your idea! Mid-State Technical College and University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) students are invited to participate in an idea contest. This in-person event will be a low stakes early opportunity for future entrepreneurs and leaders to share a proposed solution to a business or community challenge.Five participants will walk away with $100.

Discover Your Career Match!Program Showcase gives high schools students in ninth and tenth grades a first-hand look at college life and the in-demand degree programs available at Mid-State. Lunch is not provided; however, arrangements can be made for your students to eat on campus before or after their session. Space is limited so reserve your class early.

BizCon invites students to Mid-State for a day of experiential learning and fun! 

In this lab, students will discover and learn about the scientific and real-world aspects of bridges and understand the variety of ways bridges can be designed. Students will explore and design their own bridges using materials provided. Designed for students to connect hands-on engineering experiences with real careers and education pathways in advanced manufacturing, engineering and technology.Recommended grades 8-12. Lunch provided.

In this lab, students will explore the world of packaging engineering by learning how everyday items are protected on their journey from production to the consumer. They’ll uncover the science behind cushioning and impact, seeing how different materials and structures absorb force. Students will take on a hands-on challenge and design packaging using materials provided. Designed for students to connect hands-on engineering experiences with real careers and education pathways in advanced manufacturing, engineering and technology.Recommended grades 8-12. Lunch provided.

Explore careers in arboriculture from the ground up!Tree Tech gives high school juniors and seniors an inside look at arboriculture while exploring connections to forestry, conservation, skilled trades, environmental science, and other outdoor careers. The skills to climb higher are built here.

The Mid-State Tech-Con educational competition will allow participants to learn skills in various computer science related areas through scenarios and activities.For students in grades 9-12.

Discovery Day is the perfect way for middle school students to explore careers and learn about the hands-on college degrees needed for success at the Stevens Point Downtown Campus.Students will start the day with a career interest survey to identify careers that match their skills and interests. Next, they’ll learn about Mid-State’s programs and participate in hands-on sessions led by Mid-State experts.

The Dual Credit Discovery Day - Early Childhood Education event invites current Dual Credit students to a morning of learning and fun. Students will have the opportunity to connect with faculty, learn in Mid-State lab spaces, and leave with a greater understanding of how their high school coursework will benefit their future at Mid-State.
