Building the Future of Public Safety

The Nexus Public Safety Center is a proposed training facility that brings together a Mid-State Technical College training center, a new Stevens Point Fire Station, and a satellite Stevens Point Police Department in one location.

Built to support public safety across our region, Nexus will help train future first responders and provide hands-on learning and continuing education for those already serving our communities.

What Is the Nexus Public Safety Center?

Nexus will prepare first responders in modern classrooms, realistic simulation labs, and shared training spaces that mirror real emergencies. Students and professionals will train together to build the teamwork and skills today's communities depend on.

Meeting Our Region's Public Safety Needs

Communities across central Wisconsin need more trained first responders and better access to hands-on training. We need to:

  • Address workforce shortages in public safety careers.
  • Expand access to specialized training close to home.
  • Help fire, EMS, and law enforcement agencies train together.
  • Strengthen emergency response across the region.
