The Nexus Public Safety Center is a transformational, multi-phase investment in public safety training for central Wisconsin.

Nexus will bring together Mid-State Technical College, the City of Stevens Point and public safety partners in one shared training environment. The center will prepare future first responders, strengthen the skills of current professionals and expand access to realistic, hands-on training close to home.

Phase 1: Nexus Public Safety Center | $32 Million

The first phase will establish the Nexus Public Safety Center. It will bring together a Mid-State Technical College training center, a new Stevens Point Fire Station and a satellite Stevens Point Police Department location.

The center will provide modern classrooms, simulation labs and shared training environments where students and public safety professionals can learn and train together.

The current fundraising campaign is focused on making Phase 1 a reality.

Phase 2: Nexus Public Safety Center | $13 Million

The long-term vision expands Nexus into a comprehensive public safety training complex. Additional facilities and training environments will support more advanced, realistic and collaborative public safety training.

Together, both phases are $45 million and represent a long-term investment in the people and agencies responsible for keeping our communities safe.

Communities across central Wisconsin need more trained first responders and better access to hands-on training. Nexus will help our region:

  • Expand access to specialized training close to home.
  • Provide realistic environments for hands-on learning.
