Student Ambassador Program
Mid-State's Student Ambassador Program is made up of a group of highly regarded students on campus who demonstrate many excellent qualities, including a strong desire to positively represent the College. Student ambassadors share their positive experiences with other students, staff, prospective students, community members, and business partners through involvement with various departments throughout the year.
The Ambassador Program gives students the opportunity to:
- Gain incredible leadership opportunities.
- Work collaboratively with other students and staff.
- Be eligible to represent Mid-State at the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) State Ambassador Conference in Madison.
Student ambassadors will receive $10 per hour up to 50 hours per semester by participating in events and activities they choose.
Students can fill out the application, including two employee references, or they can be nominated by any Mid-State staff member. Selection includes an interview and consideration of qualities that go beyond good grades, such as community involvement, leadership in and out of the classroom, and a true commitment to higher education in the Wisconsin Technical College System.

Wisconsin Technical College System State Ambassador Award
“Recognizing outstanding student achievement in vocational-technical education.”
What is the WTCS State Ambassador Award?
The WTCS Ambassador Award is a statewide program with the mission of recognizing and rewarding outstanding students in the Wisconsin Technical College System. The program aims to develop a greater public awareness and appreciation for the high-quality system of technical education, which contributes to both the state's economy and its citizens by providing occupational education.
Who can receive this award?
This award is given to a student ambassador who possesses qualities that go beyond good grades, such as community involvement, leadership qualities in and out of the classroom, and a true commitment to higher education in the Wisconsin Technical College System.
How is the winner chosen?
The WTCS State Ambassador for Mid-State is chosen from the group of current Student Ambassadors working for the College. A committee will evaluate the commitment, dedication, and work each student has done and select three to move on to an interview. One winner will be chosen to represent Mid-State at the state conference.
What are the benefits to the winner?
The ambassador is then recognized at the statewide student ambassador conference in Wisconsin Dells. At this all-expense-paid conference the student receives valuable leadership training, speaks at the State Ambassador Dinner, and receives an exclusive memento. The Mid-State Foundation also awards the College-Wide Ambassador with a $200 scholarship. Additionally, they will spend the next year as a spokesperson for the Wisconsin Technical College System and Mid-State.
