Chainsaw Safety Class
Learn to use a chainsaw safely to reduce related injuries. This class is made available to the public at no charge through a sponsorship by Gundersen Moundview as part of its healthy living mission. Registration required.
This class will follow a “Tell Me, Show Me, Let Me” format, with an opportunity for hands-on training, and will cover the following:
- Understanding how the chainsaw operates
- Inspecting and preparing the saw for use
- Sharpening the saw
- Proper body mechanics when using the saw
Must be at least 16 years of age to participate.

Register by September 27 by calling 715.422.5347. (Registration required.) Class size is limited to 15 students to ensure class participation.
Participants should bring boots, gloves, and long pants. Additional safety equipment will be provided. Participants may also bring their own saw for a safety inspection by our faculty and for use during the hands-on portion of the course.
