Want the knowledge and skills you need to qualify for a position as a surgical technologist? Enroll at MSTC today!
The Surgical Technologist program encompasses both classroom instruction and clinical experience. Ten weeks into the program, you begin applying your classroom knowledge and skills through hands-on clinical experiences, including surgery, ambulatory surgery, central service, and related areas.
Just prior to graduation, you will take the Surgical Technologist certifying exam through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA). After successful completion of the program and certification exam, you will be able to use the credentials of Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
Graduates work in operating rooms under the supervision of surgeons and registered nurses. As part of the surgical team, you provide instruments and supplies to the surgeon during surgical procedures.
The Surgical Technologist program is offered at Marshfield Campus and is accredited by the Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (ARC/STSA), under the auspices of Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.
