Hi, my name is Richelle Hoekstra-Anderson and I am the counselor for students enrolled in Business Division programs, Renewable Energy Programs, as well as those who are undecided about which program to pursue. I work at the Wisconsin Rapids Campus.
My professional experience includes working for ten years in private practice in a mental health clinic as a clinical psychologist before joining MSTC in 2000 as a full-time psychology instructor. My career took yet another turn when I became a MSTC counselor in 2004. I very much enjoy meeting with students and assisting them with all aspects of the education process from applying for admission to selecting a program or class to watching them walk across the stage as they earn their college diploma.
I truly believe in education as the ticket to not only more earning power but enriching the quality of life. Deciding to pursue a college education is one of the most important decisions you will ever make and it requires a strong commitment to finish. When students encounter academic and/or personal challenges and struggles along the path to reaching their goals, as their counselor I am there to encourage, support, guide and direct.
One additional role I have enjoyed for the past three years is serving as advisor to the student organization, Campus Crusade for Christ (CRU @ MSTC). This has given me additional opportunities to meet a variety of students, encourage them in developing their leadership skills and reach out to those students who are interested in discussions around spiritual topics.
The bottom line, I seek to help make your experience at MSTC a rewarding one! |
