Mobile Email Instructions

On Campus?

If you are on campus when setting up your mailbox, your mobile device will most likely attempt to use our wireless connection as the #1 priority for data. In order to use our wireless connection you will need to open a browser and accept the terms before attempting to set up a connection for your email. Otherwise you will receive an "unable to connect" error message.

Android Users:

Select “Exchange” or “Exchange ActiveSync” when prompted for mailbox type. This selection varies depending on Android version.
Email address: e.g. lastname1234@my.mstc.edu
Password: Enter in Mid-State network username password.
Follow the prompts and set up a syncing schedule.

If your device does not automatically detect mailbox settings, use the information below:

Manual Settings:

Server: outlook.office365.com
Domain\Username: Replace with your Mid-State network username with the ‘@mstc.edu’ appended. E.g. 12345678@mstc.edu
*If Domain is a separate field, leave it blank.
Password: Password should pull from the previously filled out screen, otherwise re-enter in Mid-State network username password.
Leave the box checked to “Use secure connection (SSL)”

Apple Users:

Click on "Settings", go to "Mail, Contacts, Calendars", select "Add Account", and then Select "Microsoft Exchange".

Email Address: e.g. lastname1234@my.mstc.edu
Password: Enter in Mid-State network password.
Description: Enter in a description if you wish (optional)
Follow the prompts and select done when finished.

If your device does not automatically detect mailbox settings, use the information below:

Mailbox settings:

Server: outlook.office365.com
Domain: Leave blank
Username: Your Mid-State network username with the ‘@mstc.edu’ appended. E.g. 12345678@mstc.edu
Password: Enter in Mid-State network password.
Leave "Use SSL" set to on.
