Library Facilities & Services

MSTC libraries offer many services for the students, faculty, staff, and adult residents in the Mid-State District. The library system consists of three campus libraries in Marshfield, Stevens Point, and Wisconsin Rapids, and one county center library in Adams. Each library provides an array of print, non-print, and electronic resources and services to support its campus/center programming and the district’s learning, discovery, and engagement mission. Each MSTC library is an open learning center. Campus libraries may also offer the following services (see below for services that may be limited to certain locations):

Computers:

Each campus library provides lab computers that support programming on that campus. There are also designated workstations at Wisconsin Rapids Campus that are to be used for accessing online databases and the library catalog (online public-access catalog – OPAC). Each campus library also provides wireless Internet access to all patrons. Computer(s) with Internet access for public (non-registered) patrons are available at each campus library.

Copy Machine:

A coin-operated copy machine is available in the Wisconsin Rapids campus library. A change machine is located near the copier.  A copy machine is available in the Stevens Point learning commons that is operational with a student or employee ID number.  A coin-operated copy machine is available for public use at the west end of the Stevens Point campus. A copy machine is available in the Marshfield library that is operational with a student or employee ID number.

Fax Services:

The Wisconsin Rapids campus library provides fax services to students, faculty, and staff for a nominal fee.

Group Study Rooms:

Each campus library provides small study rooms for use by one to six patrons at a time.

VHS/DVD Viewing Stations:

There are individual viewing carrels for both VHS and DVD video recordings at the Wisconsin Rapids Campus library. All lab computers at the Wisconsin Rapids Campus library also have the capability of playing DVD recordings, as well as CD and CD-ROM. In addition, there is a multi-user video viewing station that can accommodate up to five individuals in the first group study room at Wisconsin Rapids Campus. This room may be reserved for up to a two-hour block of time (see library staff for information on reserving this space).

Instructional Computer Lab:

There is a computer lab with 10 workstations and overhead projection equipment located at the Wisconsin Rapids Campus library. This lab is available for small group instruction or presentations. This lab also serves as overflow for the general library lab computers.
