Basic information about Primo (Video)

One stop searching...
Students, faculty and staff are able to use Primo for all of their research needs. By searching in the Primo box, you are able to pull up all types of resources that we have available at the MSTC Library, including books (electronic and print), articles, videos and more. All you have to do is type your topic into the Primo box that is on the MSTC Library homepage (or below):
Search All Library Resources with Primo
This service is still in Beta. In some of your results, you may find errors where Primo will not link to a full-text article or it will link to the wrong article. We apologize for the inconvenience and are working with the company to fix these errors. You can still search MSTC online databases individually on our Online Databases page.
Once you type in your search, and click on Go, you will be able to see all of the material types available. These will be listed on the left-hand side of your screen; clicking on any of those material types will reduce the number of results that you brought up. In addition, if you are doing research for a paper, and need scholarly or peer-reviewed articles, you can click on "Peer-reviewed Journals" under the Show only heading.
From here, you are able to select and view the materials that are of interest to you. When you log into your MSTC Library account (last name and barcode number are needed), you are able to save your searches and view items later.
Additional Primo Help
Please keep in mind that MSTC's Primo search is still in Beta, and does not interact with all of our databases. If you need additional help with your research, please contact us using our Ask a Librarian form.
