Renewable Energy Specialist
Associate in Applied Science (AAS)The promise of a clean, endless supply of power depends on our ability to harness energy from sources such as wind, sunlight, organic matter, the Earth’s internal heat, and rivers. Making this promise a reality requires workers dedicated to a sustainable energy future.
MSTC’s unique facilities, a variety of brands of equipment and software for training, experienced faculty, and off-campus design opportunities make this program one-of-a-kind. The Renewable Energy Specialist program prepares you to design an integrated portfolio of renewable and traditional energy producing systems. You will perform site assessments and recommend appropriate renewable energy technologies, sell and/or market renewable energy technologies, and manage renewable energy installation projects. Renewable Energy Specialist graduates will also have a working knowledge of “green” building concepts and energy efficient design principles.
The Renewable Energy Specialist program is offered at Wisconsin Rapids Campus and is the only program of its kind offered in the Wisconsin Technical College System. Students will be eligible to receive a certificate in Solar Water Heating Site Assessment and Photovoltaic Site Assessment through the Midwest Renewable Energy Association.
