Overview Graduates of the Pharmacy Technician program may find themselves working in hospital and retail pharmacies, nursing homes and virtually everywhere drugs must be prepared. Pharamacy Technicians are filling a critical position in the healthcare network today. Pharmacy technicians assist the pharmacists with such tasks as compounding solutions, preparing mixtures, ensuring sterile conditions and packaging and labeling drugs for prescriptions. The technician may provide office and clerical support, maintain records, patient profiles and inventory drug shipments. The Pharmacy Technician program is accredited by the American Society of Hospital Pharmacists. The Pharmacy Technician program is a Technical Diploma and offered via ITV hosted by Lakeshore Technical College and is supported by select classes available in the MSTC District. |
