I passed my first test! What a great feeling to get that first test over with, and to do well on it!
I don’t usually struggle with test anxiety, but that first test always make me anxious. I’m just not sure what to expect, and that is enough to make me nervous. So, how do I deal with test anxiety?
I take a deep breath, and a few more if I need to. I tell myself to calm down, and to focus on the task at hand. I remind myself to take it one step at a time, or in this case, one question at a time. If I find myself getting anxious at any point I repeat the process. Really, it is that simple!
What helps you? Maybe it is as simple as a few deep breaths and positive self talk, or maybe reading the questions out loud helps you. This is one of the most rewarding questions to answer as a student!
