Non-Degree Seeking Student

Non-degree-seeking students are students who currently have no plans to earn a credential (degree, diploma, certificate) from Mid-State Technical College. They wish to take individual courses (one or two per semester) to continue their lifelong learning journey.

  • Must complete Application for Admission
    • Are NOT required to pay the $30 admission fee
  • Before registering for your first course:
    • Must meet with a New Student Specialist for Strive to Achieve Results (STAR)
    • Complete Accuplacer (if required for selected courses)
    • May meet with a Student Success Counselor for Academic Advising, if needed
    • May need to meet with course instructor to ensure you are prepared for selected course
  • Should attend New Student Orientation
  • If a non-degree-seeking student later decides to pursue a credential (degree, diploma, certificate), the student will have to complete the Application for Admission again and pay the $30 admission fee. The student may also be required to complete the Accuplacer.
