Mid-State hosts 30th Annual Foundation Golf Outing

July 5, 2017

Mid-State Technical College hosted its 30th Annual Foundation Golf Outing, titled the “1987 Golf Party.” Seventy golfers dressed in 80s attire teed-off Monday, June 12, at the Bull’s Eye Country Club in Wisconsin Rapids for a round of 18 holes, 80s style. The weather was hot and humid but perfect for golf and a good cause. The nearly $10,000 in proceeds raised at the event will be used to help fund approximately 20 different scholarships for students.

“It’s wonderful to see so many community partners joining us to help our students achieve their educational goals,” said Jill Steckbauer, director of Mid-State’s Foundation & Alumni. “We are fortunate to have amazing individuals and businesses supporting us and our students.

There to represent the College at its largest fundraiser of the year was Dr. Shelly Mondeik, Mid-State’s new president as of June 1. Mondeik was stationed on the eighth hole throughout the day to greet and get to know the many individuals and local businesses who came out to have some fun while supporting students.
