New Student Advising

New Student Advising

After completing the Accuplacer, new students will meet with a Student Success Counselor to solidify their program choice and select their first semester courses.

When selecting courses, students should consider:

  • Current obligations for work, family, etc.
  • Time needed for studying
  • Accuplacer scores and program requirements
  • Financial aid requirements for half-time, three-quarter time, full-time
  • Additional program requirements (e.g., background check)

If you have completed the Accuplacer and have not yet registered for classes, please contact the Student Services and Information Center to schedule an advising appointment with a Student Success Counselor.  Academic advising is mandatory.
