Overview
Machine Tool Technology is at the heart of many industrial processes. This program will prepare you for various positions relating to machining in industrial production and maintenance environments. Additional training and experience often leads to supervisory, quality assurance and toolmaker positions.
Learn to shape various materials into intricate, precise, usable parts. Get direct experience in working from blueprints and written specifications and to select the proper machinery, materials and tools to accomplish the task.
Precision measurement with micrometers, dial indicators, optical comparators and gauges is emphasized in the curriculum. Machine tools, such as lathes, mills, grinders, computers and computer-controlled machines (CNC), are used to produce parts.
This program has credit transfer agreements with UW-Stout, Capella University and Upper Iowa Univeristy.
The Machine Tool Technician program is a Technical Diploma and offered at MSTC's Wisconsin Rapids campus. |
