Are you interested in a unique form of “container” gardening?  Come away from this short course with knowledge about how to grow vegetables in bales of straw, without soil—or weeds! Growing in straw bales is like growing in a pile of compost, where roots get bigger and stay warmer.  Better roots mean better shoots and bigger fruits. Hands-on demonstration will offer the opportunity to inspect bales of straw in various stages of preparation or conditioning before planting. The class fee includes your own copy of Joel Karsten’s Straw Bale Gardens booklet.
