The Mid-State Technical College District Board invites applications for the position of College President. The President serves as the Chief Administrative Officer and reports to a nine-member appointed Board of Trustees.
College Profile
Mid-State Technical College (MSTC) is one of the Wisconsin Technical College System's 16 colleges and is a leading provider of higher education offering over 50 career opportunities through associate degrees, technical diplomas and certificates. Student-focused and community-based, MSTC serves a resident population of approximately 165,000 in central Wisconsin with campuses in Marshfield, Stevens Point and Wisconsin Rapids, and a learning center in Adams.
Accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association and committed to the Academic Quality Improvement Program, MSTC is a multi-campus, comprehensive, two-year technical college providing services to over 9,000 individuals annually:
- Nearly 6,000 degree-declared/program students.
- Over 3,000 students enroll in continuing education.
- 2,300 (FTE’s) full-time equivalent students.
- Approximately 230 full-time faculty and staff.
Programs of study are offered in agribusiness & urban forestry, business & information technology, electronics, health, manufacturing & process technology, protective & consumer services, renewable energy, and transportation technology. Most students come from the College’s service area in central Wisconsin.

Presidential Profile
Functioning as the Board’s Executive Officer, the President is responsible for all educational and educational supportive functions within the district. The President administers all policies established by the Board and delegates appropriate tasks and duties to other staff members employed by the District Board.
The following positions report to the President: Vice President of Academic Affairs, Vice President of Finance, Vice President of Human Resources, Vice President of Student Affairs & Information Technology, Facilities Director, and the Executive Administrative Assistant. The President is responsible for coordinating the activities assigned to these positions.
Required Qualifications
- A doctorate from an accredited institution preferred, minimum of a master's degree with an emphasis in higher education, educational administration, or other appropriate discipline from an accredited institution required.
- Appropriate teaching experience and progressively responsible administrative experience required, preferably in community college or technical college.
- Meet and maintain Wisconsin Technical College System certification requirements.

Other Preferred Qualifications
- An understanding of the comprehensive technical college mission and appreciation for the educational process at the community-technical college level.
- A participatory management philosophy involving faculty, other college personnel, and community members.
- Experience working with governing boards.
- A dedication to strategic planning, budget management, fiscal stability, and continuous quality improvement.
- Knowledge and experience in collective bargaining and contract administration.
- A commitment to excellence in all areas of curriculum and instruction, including trends related to distance learning, principles of a learning college, institutional accreditation, the school-to-work transition, and the assessment of student academic achievement.
- The ability to promote the College to leaders in agriculture, business, industry, government, the legislature, education, community groups, alumni, and students.
- A sensitivity and understanding of diverse groups in central Wisconsin, including traditional and non-traditional students.
- Demonstrated leadership in the uses of technology
- Must possess ability to:
