Renewable Thermal Energy Technician Instructor in the Technical and Industrial Division of Mid‑State Technical College. This is a full-time position with a 38-week contract; work hours may vary from traditional daytime schedule. Position reports to the Technical and Industrial Division Associate Dean.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Teach courses in renewable thermal energy technology with emphasis on installation and maintenance of solar thermal, geothermal, and biomass heating systems and related technologies. Assist in program planning, curriculum development, and the ongoing maintenance of the Renewable Thermal Energy Technician Associate Degree Program. Assist with program budget development and maintenance of equipment and inventory. Responsible for classroom management, student evaluation, and records maintenance. Assist with student recruitment, registration, advisement, and placement. Assist with advisory committees and co-curricular student activities. Maintain technical skills to current industry standards. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in a related field; discipline-centered Master’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum of one year (2,000 hours) of non-teaching, work experience with extensive design, installation, and maintenance of solar thermal, geothermal, and/or biomass heating systems.
- Post-secondary teaching experience preferred.
- NABCEP certification in solar thermal systems preferred.
- Must be able to demonstrate good organizational skills, positive interpersonal skills, and excellent communication skills in educating adult learners.

SALARY: Dependent upon qualifications, but consistent with current salary schedule.
