Description:

The course covers a variety of computer programs available for analyzing buildings. Topics include BIN methodology, hourly simulations, utility rate analysis, cost estimating, analysis of energy efficiency measures, environmental and pollutant analysis, and financing options. Students will perform supervised computer simulations, using software packages such as eQuest, REM Rate, Energy Gauge, Optimizer, and others. Students will utilize software tools to prioritize potential energy efficiency measures based on both cost effectiveness and environmental impact.
