Accuplacer Waiver Guidelines

ACCUPLACER is required for all incoming students applying for a Mid-State Technical College program. MSTC requires the following four parts: Reading Comprehension, Sentence Skills, Arithmetic, and Elementary Algebra. The ACCUPLACER may be waived, at counselor discretion, if you meet any one of the conditions listed below:
	You have taken ACCUPLACER, ACT, ASSET, or COMPASS within the last three years. The results must meet program and course requirements. (You must provide a copy of your scores or have them sent to the MSTC Admission Office.)
	You have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in the United States. (You must provide a copy of your transcripts.)
	You have completed an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in the United States. (You must provide a copy of your transcripts.)
	You have completed a Technical Diploma from an accredited college or university in the United States that included General Education requirements and you are applying for another Technical diploma program. (You must provide a copy of your transcripts.)
	You have successfully completed 60 college-level credits at a college or university in the United States with a 2.0 cumulative grade point average. The 60 credits must have included a college-level English course and a college-level Mathematics course, both with grades C- or better. (You must provide a copy of your transcripts.)
	Translated copies of foreign degrees will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis by the counselor to determine if entry requirements are met. (You must provide a translated copy of your degree and transcripts.)
	Please note: The counselor may require an applicant to complete an ACCUPLACER if your degree is over five years old.
