WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Four members of the Mid-State Technical College (MSTC) Board of Directors took the oath of office Monday evening during the Board's 2006-07 organizational meeting. Peggy Ose, Dean Ryerson and Judy Woltmann were each appointed to three-year terms. Randall Dhein was appointed to a one-year unexpired term to replace Terry Frankland, who resigned from the board in February. Dhein, Port Edwards, is employed at Erco Worldwide. He has served on the MSTC Board of Directors since 1997. Ose, Wisconsin Rapids, is employed at the Riverview Hospital Association and has served on the board since 2005. The Board is responsible for the administration of technical and adult educational programs and services in the district as authorized by the Wisconsin Technical College System Board according to state legislation.

In other action, the Board elected officers for fiscal year 2006-07. Dhein was elected chairperson; Joseph Kinsella, Stevens Point, was elected vice chairperson; Betty Bruski Mallek, Junction City, was elected secretary; and Patrick Costello, Wisconsin Rapids, was elected treasurer.

In final action, the Board unanimously approved a one-year extension of the current contract for College President Dr. John Clark. His contract is extended to June 30, 2009.

The next Mid-State Technical College Board of Directors meeting will be held Monday, August 21 at the Wisconsin Rapids campus. Committee meetings are scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m., with the regular Board meeting beginning at 5:30 p.m.
