Statement of Affiliation
NCA was founded in 1895 as a membership organization for educational institutions. It is committed to developing and maintaining high standards of excellence. NCA is one of six regional institutional accrediting associations in the United States. Through its Commission, it accredits and thereby grants membership to educational institutions in the 19-state North Central region. The Higher Learning Commission accredits colleges and universities.
How Are We Doing?
Mid-State is seeking comments from the public about the college in preparation for its regular evaluation by its regional accrediting agency. The college is hosting a visit from a team representing the Higher Learning Commission on May 2-4, 2016. The team is reviewing Mid-State to ensure it is continuing to meet the Higher Learning Commission’s Criteria for Accreditation. Mid-State has been continuously accredited by the Higher Learning Commission since July 1979.
Public comments must address substantive matters related to the quality of instruction or its academic programs. Comments must be in writing and submitted by April 2, 2016. Members of the public are invited to mail comments about the college to:
