The Mid-State Technical College (MSTC) Foundation is pleased to announce the following spring semester scholarship recipients.
2012 Mid-Year: Five $500 scholarships were awarded to new students who enrolled full-time beginning in January. Recipients include: Stuart McGregor, Hancock, Business Management; Jenna Knutson, Marshfield, Barber/Cosmetologist; Chris Villarreal, Stevens Point, Paramedic Technician; Linda Meeks, Accounting, and Jamie Porter, Business Management, Wisconsin Rapids.
Wisconsin Hospital Association Foundation (WHA): Established in 2003 for final semester degreed healthcare program students, the WHA provides two annual full tuition awards (up to $2,000) to each of the sixteen Wisconsin technical colleges. The recipient for spring 2012 is Rachelle Tuyls, Wisconsin Rapids, Nursing.
MSTC Diversity: Established in 2011 through fundraising efforts of the MSTC Diversity Committee for students with a minimum 3.0 GPA. The spring 2012 recipients include: $250 to Maria Rose Grana, Arkdale, Urban Forestry Technician; $125 each to Jillian Farres, Adams, Respiratory Therapy and Nitsuh Haile, Wisconsin Rapids, Nursing.
Alt Family Healthcare: This $250 award was established for any first generation college student (neither parent completed post- secondary education), enrolled in a health-related program on the Marshfield or Stevens Point campuses which is one-year or longer in length and carries minimum 3.0 GPA. The recipient is Lisa Chang, Stevens Point, Medical Assistant.
Claude V. Ostram Memorial: Established in 2009 for Welding program students, the scholarship awards $250. The 2012 recipient is Kenneth Myszkowski, Jr., Custer.
Umhoefer Foundation: Established in 2009 for Marshfield area students enrolled in the Welding program, the scholarship awards up to $500. The 2012 recipient is Chad Heintz, Marshfield.
