In celebration of 30 years of scholarship distribution, the Mid-State Technical College (MSTC) Foundation Board of Directors has made an additional $30,000 available for scholarships during the 2011-12 academic year. For the fall semester beginning in August, three scholarships valued at $3,000 and five valued at $1,000 are available to individuals who will attend MSTC as a new, full-time program student. The deadline for completed scholarship applications is Thursday, August 4.
As financial need is a primary concern for many students, the MSTC Foundation plays an instrumental role in helping students reach their career goals through numerous scholarships and grants. According to Chris Maguire, Foundation & Alumni Director, this year’s additional allocation of $30,000 for scholarships is a way to give back to the communities that have supported the College and the Foundation for many years. “Since MSTC first opened its doors, thousands of central Wisconsin employees and employers have earned degrees, received certification, gained additional skills and increased their productivity through the education and training they received at the College. These individuals are making a significant difference at businesses and organizations and in their communities throughout the region and around the world,” said Maguire. “The increased scholarship funds provide a great opportunity to help area residents positively change their life, and by doing so, to give back to their communities,” added Maguire.
Maguire encourages new students to visit the Foundation’s webpage for scholarship applications and procedures. Application forms are also available by request at foundation@mstc.edu or by calling (715) 422-5322. Completed applications must be submitted to: MSTC Foundation Office, 500 32nd Street North, Wisconsin Rapids, WI 54494. All application materials are due Thursday, August 4. |
