Renewable Energy Certificates Offered

Beginning in late August, Mid-State Technical College (MSTC) will offer five, renewable energy certificates targeted primarily to journey workers and displaced workers. The certificates will help prepare students with additional skills for future energy needs. Certificates include: Biorefinery, Energy Efficiency, Photovoltaic System, Solar Thermal and Wind Systems.

Classes for each of the ten-credit certificates will begin in late August and with the exception of Photovoltaic System, they will be held at MSTC’s Wisconsin Rapids campus. Photovoltaic System classes will be held at the College’s Marshfield campus. Modeled after apprenticeship programs, the Renewable Energy Certificate classes will be held one full day per week. Qualified students are eligible for full tuition funding.

Many of Wisconsin’s emerging professions with the most growth potential are energy-related. These unique certificates provide an opportunity for students to receive training in labs with state-of-the-art equipment and with tools currently utilized in the manufacture, installation, repair and maintenance sectors of the renewable energy industry.

To learn more about the renewable energy certificates, contact Ali Konkel, Renewable Energy Certificates Case Manager, at 715.422.5698 or via email at ali.konkel@mstc.edu.
