Through the generosity of the late Leonard and Lillian Bethke, the MSTC Foundation has awarded a $6,000 transportation scholarship to Pittsville High School senior Zachary Hoffarth. He is pursuing a technical diploma in the Automotive Technician program at Mid-State Technical College (MSTC).
Hoffarth, Pittsville, is the son of Bryan and Peggy Hoffarth. During high school, he was involved in Future Farmers of America (FFA), football, basketball, Red Ribbon Week, blood donations, Halloween Safety and drama club. He has participated in the Lindsey 4-H Club, Pittsville FFA June Dairy Breakfast, Pittsville FFA Meat & Labor Auction, 4-H Promotion and Leadership Skills (PALS) volleyball tournament and the Wisconsin Association of Future Farmers of America Youth Leadership Congress. Hoffarth is currently employed at Charley’s Pinecrest and his family’s farm. He is motivated by the many changes in the automotive industry such as hybrid vehicles and/or vehicles that receive more miles to the gallon.
The Leonard & Lillian Bethke Transportation Scholarship has a maximum value of $6,000, which covers tuition and fees. To remain eligible for the continuation of scholarship funds, recipients must maintain required academic standings. Hoffarth was selected by the MSTC Scholarship Selection Committee. Students’ academic achievements, pre-entrance test results, financial need, extracurricular activities and responses to essay questions were reviewed and assessed by the committee. |
