This Saturday, February 20, beginning at 2 p.m., MSTC will host a free session at its Wisconsin Rapids campus to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. Every college-bound student should complete the FAFSA form. The FAFSA is the financial aid application for all colleges nationwide to be eligible for federal and state grants, federal college work study, and federal student loans. It opens the door to potential cash for college.
Students and/or their parents will complete the FAFSA form in about an hour. Receive help from financial aid experts and eliminate any possible confusion!
Attendees should bring the following:
- Correct Social Security numbers (can be found on Social Security card)
- Driver's license (if any)
- 2009 federal tax returns
- 2008 federal tax returns, if 2009 returns are not complete
- 2009 untaxed income records (Social Security, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families, welfare or veterans benefits records)
- 2009 bank statements
- 2009 business and investment mortgage information, business and farm records, and stock, bond, and other investment records
- Alien registration card (if you are not a U.S. citizen)
Individuals can still attend even if your 2009 income information is incomplete or you forget something. They may file your FAFSA after the event..
College Goal Weekend provides free assistance for Wisconsin’s college-bound students, Feb. 20-21, 2010. Twenty Five locations statewide are taking part in Wisconsin’s fifth annual College Goal Sunday “Weekend Edition,” Feb. 20-21, 2010, to offer financial aid application assistance to prospective college students. The two-day event, sponsored by the Wisconsin Association for Student Financial Aid Administrators, is designed to address the needs of low-income and first-generation college students who are completing and submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
