Mid-State Technical College (MSTC) will hold Futurefest 2010, Monday, February 15 from 6-8 p.m. The event is free and open to the public and will be held at MSTC’s Marshfield campus, 2600 West 5th Street.
Futurefest provides a unique opportunity to tour the campus, visit state-of-the-art classrooms and labs, speak with staff and learn about academic requirements, admissions procedures, financial aid and student services. MSTC students spend much of their time in fully-equipped laboratories and simulated work environments. Futurefest 2010 will provide participants with several mini-versions of these student experiences.
- Biomedical Informatics – Experience the storage and retrieval of patient information with tablet computers.
- Explore Business Programs
- Emergency Medical Services – Stop by the state-of-the art EMS lab to see the advanced technology to train EMTs and paramedics.
- Laboratory Science Technician – Learn about advancements in Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) technologies.
- Medical Assistant – Join program students and learn see how a variety of clinical, administrative and laboratory skills are utilized.
- Renewable Energy – Solar panels can decrease electrical costs. Learn how MSTC’s photovoltaic system works.
- Respiratory Therapist – Stop by the simulated intensive care room and see the human patient simulator and ventilators in action.
- Surgical Technologist & Central Service Technician – Handle the instruments and experience the techniques used to prepare students for these careers.
During Futurefest, individuals can learn about the admissions process or how to apply for financial aid to help pay for college. Visitors can relax in the hospitality room, enjoy snacks and refreshments, and register for prizes. Pre-registration for Futurefest 2010 is strongly recommended.
