Mid-State Technical College (MSTC) will hold Futurefest 2010, Tuesday, February 9 from 6-8 p.m. The event is free and open to the public and will be held at MSTC’s Wisconsin Rapids campus, 500 32nd Street North.

Futurefest provides a unique opportunity to tour the campus, visit state-of-the-art classrooms and labs, speak with knowledgeable staff and learn about academic requirements, admissions procedures, financial aid and student services. As MSTC students spend much of their time in fully equipped laboratories and simulated work environments, Futurefest 2010 will provide participants with several mini-versions of the student experience.

• Hands-on learning in Business program modules
• Cosmetology Clinic exploration
• Demonstrations in new and Protective & Emergency Service Labs, including a realistic firearms decision-making session.
• Gain an insight into the exciting field of civil engineering.
• Discover how a leaky house can waste heating and cooling energy.
• Firefighter, Nursing and EMT – labs & simulations
• Diesel & Heavy Equipment technology.
• Make a project in Early Childhood Education.

During Futurefest, individuals can learn about the admissions process or how to apply for financial aid to help pay for college. Visitors can relax in the hospitality room, enjoy snacks and refreshments, and register for prizes. Pre-registration for Futurefest 2010 is strongly recommended.
