Two new members of the Mid-State Technical College (MSTC) Board of Directors took the oath of office during the board's July organizational meeting. Lynneia Miller and Terry Reynolds will each serve a three-year term. Miller, Marshfield, is employed at Security Health Plan. Reynolds, Marshfield, is the District Administrator for the Pittsville School District.
The board elected officers for fiscal year 2009-10. Peggy Ose, Wisconsin Rapids, was elected chairperson, Robert Beaver, Friendship, was elected vice chairperson; Betty Bruski Mallek, Junction City, was elected secretary; and Patrick Costello, Wisconsin Rapids, was elected treasurer.
Board members are appointed by county board supervisors, serve on a voluntary basis and are not paid. The nine-member MSTC Board of Directors is organized to represent employees, employers and the general public at large throughout the district; one member must be a public school administrator and one member an elected official. The board is responsible for the administration of technical and adult educational programs and services in the district as authorized by the Wisconsin Technical College System Board.
In other action, the board unanimously approved a one-year extension of the current contract for College President, Dr. John Clark. His contract was extended to June 30, 2012.
The next MSTC Board of Directors meeting will be held Monday, August 17 at the Wisconsin Rapids campus. Committee meetings are scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m., with the regular board meeting beginning at 5:30 p.m. |
